Chemical engineers to focus on regeneration at Chemeca 2016
Regeneration, recovery and reinvention will be a key focus at Chemeca 2016, the largest annual gathering of Australian and New Zealand chemical and process engineers. The event is expected to attract up to 400 delegates on 25–28 September 2016, at the Adelaide Convention Centre, South Australia.
Chemeca 2016 is the premier annual conference for the chemical engineering profession in Australia and New Zealand. It has attracted a host of international experts who will each share the latest developments, case studies and lessons learned from their respective fields. Sustainability, production industry synergies, and companion industry processes are just some of the topics chemical engineers will be invited to discuss, leading the way with strong ideas and expertise on the future of these areas.
Organising committee chair, Tony Williams, said that Australian engineers have been issued a clear challenge by the Australian Federal governments: “That is, to raise the level of innovation and develop new technology, while simultaneously lowering our carbon footprint by improving the efficiency and utilisation of resources within Australia. This challenge is applicable in New Zealand too. ”

Williams urged chemical engineers to participate and take-away an opportunity for transformation based on the conference theme: Regeneration, Recovery and Reinvention.

The event will also host the Awards of Excellence in Chemical Engineering, announcing this year’s Chemeca medal winner and other industry awards.
