2014 IPENZ Centenary Lecture: Battle of the Boats

The America’s Cup is no longer won by the crew with the best sailing skills alone, but by the team which engineers, develops and gets the optimum performance out of these revolutionary yachts. Hear the untold story of the behind-the-scenes race to create the winning design. The design engineers themselves have contrasting views about which innovative features had the biggest impact on the outcome of the races – but one thing is sure: technology was a critical factor in winning the cup.

This free public lecture featured Team New Zealand's Andy Kensington and Oracle's Neil Wilkinson presenting their views on how Oracle came from behind to win in 2013.
