2013 Young Engineer of the Year finalist presentations
Christchurch engineer, Kip Cooper, talks about leading work on a $60 million wastewater rebuild, assessing damage and returning services to some of the worst affected areas hit by the earthquakes in Canterbury.
Auckland engineer, Ben Henson, presents "Open Heart Engineering – Refurbishing Auckland University's School of Medicine”. The $240 million redevelopment of the existing University of Auckland School of Medicine development included New Zealand’s first high-containment PC3 laboratory. Ben went on to win the 2013 Young Engineer of the Year Award.
Former Canterbury IPENZ chairman and engineer for SCIRT, Chris Maguire, spoke about the effect the Canterbury earthquakes had on his work and life. He shared some of the insights he gained from working in such an intense environment.
