Practice Note: HSNO-Compliant Buildings for flammable Substances

Buildings that hold flammable substances have separate and additional requirements to those required by the Building Act. This Practice Note highlights the importance of confirming the viability of the building project in terms of land use and resource management controls under the Resource Management Act. It also emphasises how early consultation with specialist electrical design professionals can minimise the extent of hazardous areas and therefore reduce compliance costs.
