This Practice Note outlines the benefits of creating positive working relationships with clients and suggests ways to work towards optimising those relationships. The guidance explores how an engineer’s credibility is largely based on non-technical qualities, such as professionalism, communication skills and the processes in place to manage the client-consultant relationship.
