Heritage Register

New Zealand has a rich engineering and industrial heritage. But we’ve long been concerned not enough has been made of it.

We want to make sure New Zealand celebrates its major engineering achievements. That’s why we created the IPENZ Engineering Heritage Register.

The Register identifies New Zealand's engineering achievements of outstanding or special heritage significance.

As part of our heritage programme, we’re always on the lookout for new Register items. Items go through a registration process before being added to the Register. We’ve put this criteria and process together to make sure that we’re profiling the very best engineering heritage that New Zealand has to offer.
